By: Sydney .D Wow, the year of 2018 is hours away from being a thing of the past. Which means- as most of you know- it’s now time to talk about the resolutions we completed and the ones that we will set for next year. This time last year I talked about a few of the goals I had for 2018. And unlike last year I actually got most of them done, or at least started them.

By: Sydney D So as you probably know as of December 17th, the tumblr purge is in full effect, and everyone has either jumped ship or been pushed off the ship (for the most part). Personally I walked off the ship when they were asking “is this anyone's stop?” back in November, and I got on a new bandwagon called Dreamwidth! (With that I’m done with the ship metaphor, promise)
By: Sydney D I was a fresh faced twelve- going on thirteen- year old, when my best friend (at the time) introduced me to Tumblr. He told me what was then the famous phrase at the time amoung Tumblr users, “What happens on Tumblr, stays on Tumblr” (That obviously is not the case in 2018). And just like that I was signed up onto Tumblr, and now exposed to pretentious art blogs, black and white photography, and millions upon millions of post about bands Fall Out Boy and Pierce The Veil. I was very much knee deep into my emo phase, but I had found my online social community of like minded individuals.
By: Sydney D So I’ve been going to the gym lately (Yeah I read that twice too. Don’t worry I’m not offended), and because of that I’m also trying to eat more healthy. However with the holidays around the corner and Halloween just over the bend, well, let’s just say it can be a little hard. Which is why I’ve found some easy snacks to spook us all away from the unhealthy section in the local grocery store.
By: Sydney D Afternoon everyone! Today's post is going to be specifically for those who are gong to be in the Houston, Texas area this month. I know with a city as big as this one, trying to find out what events are happening and when can be a little challenging. So I've decided to compile a list of events that will be happening this month in the Houston area!!
By: Sydney D Everyone love a good murder mystery! Or, well...maybe that's just me? Either way, this book was one that was on my "Must read" since I head that the film of the same name was based off it. Didn't see the movie though that too is now on my "Must see" list haha! Anyways, here are my thoughts on the book that captivated my attention for the last few weeks!
By: Sydney D Every year Twitter will flood with millions of people giving an endless list of movies that are considered “must see Halloween movies”. Some containing great picks (like Nightmare on Elm Street) and some insisting on questionable ones (Like any of the Texas Chainsaw squeals). Nevertheless, in the small chance you haven’t found the spooky movie of your nightmares yet, here is my haunted horrors of choice:
By: Sydney D Happy Halloween everyone! So as some of you may know if you've been following me on any of my socials, I've been getting ready for October basically since July! And I figured I might bring a little bit of that spooky energy to my blog as well. Which means this October I will be doing Thirteen Days of Halloween!! And well, the best way to kick-start this series is to make a toast to the drinks of October....
The book, Dead Man Walking by Sister Prejean, covered the topics of religion and the death penalty. And whether it is morally sound to enact the death penalty. The book follows Sister Prejean's journey from being a silent bystander to becoming the face of a protest and later decade(s) long movement. My Personal thoughts: This book was actually a lot more interesting than I originally thought it was going to be. Following Sister Prejean through the conflicting emotions of becoming a spiritual adviser towards not just any type of criminal but death row inmates, forces the reader to confront ideas and questions such as; Is the death penalty murder? Morally sound? Is their life worth less than another's? However you also see the mistakes she made along the way paying one side of the argument more attention than the other. Something that was mentioned by herself of forgetting to console the grieving parents of the murdered children. Overall this book was a very good read and it has certainty found a spot on my "recommend list". Score: 8/10 Leave me a few books I should read this fall in the comments!! Thank you for reading!
